Bessemer Center Redevelopment Public Meeting Set for August 19
GREENSBORO, NC (August 16, 2010) – The City of Greensboro and the Renaissance Center Advisory Committee are hosting a public meeting at 7 pm Thursday, August 19, at Peeler Recreation Center, 1330 Sykes Ave., to review and discuss conceptual redevelopment plans for the Bessemer Shopping Center. The City purchased the underutilized shopping center at 2515 Phillips Ave. as part of land acquisition for the construction of the McGirt-Horton Library. The community vision for the center was originally outlined in a Neighborhood Center Planning Report produced in June 2003. Subsequent community input as well as site, market and feasibility analyses were used to create concept plans that will be presented at the meeting.
