Big Sweep Scheduled for September 18
GREENSBORO, NC -- (August 27, 2010) – Greensboro Beautiful’s annual Big Sweep Waterway Litter Clean Up is from 9 am to 12 noon Saturday, September 18. Neighborhoods, families, co-workers, clubs, churches, scout troops, schools, fraternities and sororities, youth groups and any other volunteers are invited to help clean up litter from area creeks, lakes, streams, and public areas.
To participate, find a stream, park, roadside, parking lot or an area in your neighborhood, near your school, office, or church that needs cleaning up. Then, enlist the help of others to form your team. Next, go online at www.greensborobeautiful.org to register your group and target location or call 336-373-2199 to request a registration form.
Your team may pick up trash bags, gloves, and other supplies from 1-5 pm Friday, September 17, at Greensboro Beautiful's office at 501 Yanceyville St. After litter pick up the next morning, bring all collected and bagged trash to the War Memorial Stadium parking lot beginning at 11 am. Refreshments will be provided for all volunteers in the parking lot until 12 noon.
