“March to the Mailbox” Blitz Events Scheduled for April 9-10

GREENSBORO, NC – (April 5, 2010) – Eight “March to the Mailbox” Blitz events/activities have been scheduled this weekend to motivate Greensboro residents in neighborhoods with historically low Census mail-in response rates to complete and return their 2010 Census forms. All events are free and open to the public. Volunteers will be available at each site to help residents complete their Census form. (See event schedule below.)

As of today, 58 percent of Greensboro residents have returned their Census forms. In all of Guilford County, 60 percent have responded and 59 percent have done so across the state. Nationally, the Census form return rate is currently at 56 percent.
