Volunteers Still Needed to ‘March to the Mailbox’

GREENSBORO, NC (March 23, 2010) – Get involved and help every person in our community be counted in Census 2010 by hosting or volunteering at a “March to the Mailbox” Blitz event. A meeting for interested hosts/volunteers, and those who have already signed up, will be held Thursday, March 25, from 6-8 pm at Windsor Recreation Center, 1601 E. Lee St.

More than 150 blitz leaders and volunteers are needed to host events on Saturday, April 10, in neighborhoods throughout Greensboro that have historically low Census mail-in response rates. Events can include potluck dinners, neighborhood block parties and much more. The US Census Bureau will provide hosts with t-shirts, brochures, mugs, flashlights and other giveaway items.

Reserve your seat at the meeting by calling Karen Markovics, planner for the City of Greensboro, at 336-412-5759.
