E. Cornwallis Road & Lane Closures Set for August 15-27
GREENSBORO, NC -- (August 13, 2010) -- Beginning 7 pm Sunday, August 15, E. Cornwallis Drive will be closed to through traffic from N. Elm Street east to N. Church Street for sewerline rehabilitation work. Work will begin at the same time Sundays through Thursdays until August 27 and should be completed each day by 7 am.
A detour will be in place during work hours. Eastbound traffic will be directed north on N. Elm Street to Cone Boulevard, then east to N. Church Street. Westbound traffic will be routed north on N. Church Street and west on Cone Boulevard to N. Elm Street.
Also, beginning at 9 am Monday, August 16, various lanes of E. Cornwallis Drive between N. Elm Street east to N. Church Street will also be closed for the sewerline work and road repair work. Work will begin at the same time Mondays through Thursdays also until August 27 and should be completed each day by 4 pm.
Both projects will close a portion of the intersections of E. Cornwallis Drive and N. Church Street. Access to businesses will be available from side streets.
Traffic delays are expected around the work zone. Motorists are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the area. Additional updates will be issued as work progresses.
