City Seeks Public Input on Search for Planning and Community Development Director
GREENSBORO, NC (June 21, 2010) – The City of Greensboro is beginning a national search for a director of the newly merged Planning Department and Housing and Community Development Department. The City will hold a public meeting on Thursday, June 24, from 7-8:30 pm to get input from residents on the evaluation criteria that will be used to screen potential candidates. The meeting will be held at the Greensboro Coliseum’s Special Events Center, 1921 W. Lee St.
The two departments, now known as the Planning and Community Development Department, were merged to optimize City resources, while improving efficiency and service delivery in the areas of land-use planning and community building.
“The merged departments will not only help streamline the process for new development and planning activities, but will allow for additional focus on neighborhood enforcement issues,” said City Manager Rashad Young. “We’re looking for residents’ input to help us find the right candidate to fit the needs of our community.”
