City Reports Untreated Sewage Discharge

GREENSBORO, NC -- (October 11, 2010) -- The City of Greensboro today, October 11, had a discharge of approximately 1,300 gallons of untreated wastewater from its sewer main located at 3417 Immanuel Rd. The discharge last for about one hour due to a 7.125-inch main stopped with debris and rags. The untreated wastewater entered South Buffalo 1 tributary of the Haw River basin. The main was unstopped with a Jet-Vac truck to prevent further discharge and the creek was flushed.
