City Reports Untreated Sewage Discharge
GREENSBORO, NC -- (November 9, 2010) -- The City of Greensboro reports a discharge of approximately 1,200 gallons of untreated wastewater from a sewer main located at 2304 Pine Lake Dr. The discharge occurred for about two hours Monday, November 8, and was due to an eight-inch main stopped with grease. The untreated wastewater entered South Buffalo 2 tributary of the Haw River basin. The main was unstopped with a Jet-Vac truck to prevent further discharge and the creek was flushed.
