Greensboro Fire Participates in Help Save a Life...Get on the Truck College Campaign

GREENSBORO, NC -- (September 11, 2010) -- The Greensboro Fire Department and students from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro are teaming up to teach the community about fire prevention and fire safety. From 6-8 pm Tuesday through Thursday, September 14-16, fire department representatives and students will be at the Windsor Recreation Center, 1601 E. Lee St., to share fire and life safety information and to sign up residents for free smoke alarm installations.

Firefighters and students will then return to Windsor Recreation Center from 11 am to 3 pm Saturday, September 18, for education and training sessions, followed by a live fire sprinkler demonstration.

Both events are free and open to the public.

UNCG's participation is part of National Campus Fire Safety Month, during which time students across the nation are encouraged to join in fire safety community service projects with their local fire departments to give back to their communities.
