Greensboro Historical Museum Hosts Halloween Graveyard Events October 23

GREENSBORO, NC -- (October 20, 2010) -- Looking for the perfect way to get into the mood for Halloween? How about a visit to a graveyard that dates back to the 1830s, where the spirits of Greensboro residents of long ago are rumored to make an appearance about this time each year?

The Greensboro Historical Museum hosts moonlight walks from 5-9 pm Saturday, October 23, in the old Presbyterian Cemetery adjacent to the museum at 130 Summit Ave. There's also a daytime alternative to the moonlight walks, designed for children ages 5 and up. From 11 am to 12 noon, folk tale artist Cynthia Brown shares ghost stories in the graveyard and children are encouraged to participate by providing spooky sound effects.

Both daytime and nighttime events are free and open to the public. For more information, visit the museum's website at www.greensborohistory.org.
