Pitch in to Clean-up Greensboro on April 10
City will hold annual Great American Cleanup in conjunction with Earth Day Celebration

GREENSBORO, NC (April 6, 2010) – Tired of seeing litter and trash scattered around our community? You can help clean it up by volunteering for the Great American Cleanup from 9 am to 12 noon Saturday, April 10.

Simply pick a site to clean-up such as a park, stream or street, organize a group, and Greensboro Beautiful Inc. will provide bags and gloves for the task. Items can be picked up from 1-5 pm Friday, April 9, at Greensboro Beautiful’s office, 501 Yanceyville St. Then, beginning at 11 am on the day of the cleanup, you can drop-off bags of trash, recyclables and tires at the War Memorial Stadium parking lot, across the street from City Beautiful’s office.

All volunteers will be treated to pizza and cold drinks after the Cleanup until 12 noon. Register to volunteer online at www.greensborobeautiful.org/gac.html. For more information, call 336-373-2199 or visit Greensboro Beautiful’s Web site at www.greensborobeautiful.org.

Also, after the Cleanup, participate in the annual citywide Earth Day celebration from 1-5 pm at Kathleen Clay Edwards Library, 1420 Price Park Rd.
