City Offices Closed in Observance of Good Friday

GREENSBORO, NC (March 26, 2010) – City of Greensboro offices and facilities will be closed Friday, April 2, in observance of Good Friday. The following services and facilities will operate on a holiday schedule:

  • No garbage, recycling, bulk trash, yard waste and appliance collections will take place Friday, April 2. Instead, Thursday’s collection will take place Wednesday, March 31 and Friday’s collection will take place Thursday, April 1.
  • The White Street Landfill and Solid Waste Transfer Station will both be closed Friday, April 2. Regular hours will resume Saturday, April 3.
  • The Greensboro Historical Museum and all branches of the Greensboro Public Library will be closed Friday, April 2. Regular hours will resume Saturday, April 3.
  • Greensboro Transit Authority’s (GTA) bus services will operate hourly from 5:30 am to 11:30 pm on Friday, April 2. Specialized Community Area Transportation (SCAT) will operate normally. HEAT Route 73 and 75 will run with reduced frequency, while HEAT Route 70 will not provide service to the GTCC-Geensboro campus. HEAT Route 70/71 will end service at 10:30 pm that Friday and Saturday. There will be no service on HEAT Route 74 or Career Express. Regular service on all GTA routes will resume on Saturday, April 3. For more information, visit www.ridegta.com.   • All City parks, gardens, lakes, trails and cemeteries will be open Friday, April 2. However, all City recreation centers, Smith Senior Center, Folk Teen Center, the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center, Caldcleugh Multicultural Arts Center, Parks & Recreation’s offices and all its programs will not operate that day. Regular hours for all Parks & Recreation facilities and programs will resume Saturday, April 3.
