City Offices Close in Observance of Christmas, New Year Holidays
GREENSBORO, NC – (December 16, 2010) – City of Greensboro offices and facilities are closed Friday, December 24, and Monday, December 27, in observance of Christmas and Friday, December 31, in observance of the New Year holiday.
The following details the changes in service and facility schedules:
- There is no trash/recycling collection on Friday, December 24 or Friday, December 31. Thursday’s collections are Wednesday, December 22 and December 29, and Friday’s collections are Thursday, December 23 and December 30.
- The White Street Landfill and Solid Waste Transfer Station are closed December 24-25 and December 31 through January 1.
- All branches of the Greensboro Public Library and the Greensboro Historical Museum are closed Friday, December 24, through Saturday, December 25, Monday, December 27, and Friday, December 31 through Saturday, January 1.
- Greensboro Transit Authority’s (GTA) HEAT and SCAT services operate on a Saturday schedule (6 am to 6 pm) on Friday’s, December 24 and December 31. There is no service scheduled on Saturday’s, December 25 and December 31. HEAT and SCAT services return to normal operation Sunday’s, December 26 and January 2.
- GTA Career Express service will not operate on Friday’s, December 24 and December 31.
