City Offices Closed July 5 in Observance of Independence Day
GREENSBORO, NC – (June 25, 2010) – City of Greensboro offices and facilities will be closed Monday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day. The following services and facilities will operate on a holiday schedule:
- No garbage, recycling, bulk trash, yard waste, and appliance collections will take place Monday, July 5. Monday’s collection will take place Tuesday, July 6, and Tuesday's collection will take place Wednesday, July 7.
- The White Street Landfill and Solid Waste Transfer Station will both be closed Monday, July 5. Regular hours will resume Tuesday, July 6.
- The Greensboro Historical Museum and all branches of the Greensboro Public Library will be closed July 4 and 5. Regular hours will resume Tuesday, July 6.
- Greensboro Transit Authority’s (GTA) bus services will operate on a normal Saturday schedule on July 3. GTA will follow its regular Sunday service schedule on July 4 and Saturday service hours and frequency will be provided on Monday, July 5. Specialized Community Area Transportation (SCAT) will operate normally on July 5 and there will be no Career Express service that day. Regular service on all GTA routes will resume Tuesday, July 6.
- City recreation centers, city pools, Smith Senior Center, Folk Teen Center, City Arts, Greensboro Cultural Center, Caldcleugh Multicultural Arts Center and Parks and Recreation administrative offices will be closed on Monday, July 5. The summer neighborhood playground programs at all 13 sites will also be closed on Monday, July 5, but all City parks, gardens, lakes, trails, cemeteries and the Greensboro Sportsplex will be open. Regular hours for all Parks and Recreation programs and facilities will resume on Tuesday, July 6.
