City Offices Close in Observance of Labor Day, September 6
GREENSBORO, NC – (August 27, 2010) – City of Greensboro offices and facilities will be closed Monday, September 6, in observance of Labor Day. The following services and facilities will operate on a holiday schedule:
- No garbage, recycling, bulk trash, yard waste, and appliance collections will take place Monday, September 6. Instead, Monday’s collection will take place Tuesday, September 7, and Tuesday’s collection will take place Wednesday, September 8.
- The White Street Landfill and Solid Waste Transfer Station will both be closed Monday, September 6. Regular hours will resume Tuesday, September 7.
- The Greensboro Historical Museum and all branches of the Greensboro Public Library will be closed Monday, September 6. Regular hours will resume Tuesday, September 7.
- Greensboro Transit Authority’s (GTA) bus services on Monday, September 6, will operate on a Saturday schedule, with hourly service from 6 am to 10 pm. Specialized Community Area Transportation (SCAT) will operate normally that Monday and there will be no Career Express service. Regular service on all GTA routes will resume Tuesday, September 7. - All City parks, gardens, lakes, trails, and cemeteries will be open Monday, September 6. However, all City recreation centers, Smith Senior Center, Folk Teen Center, Greensboro Cultural Arts Center, Caldcleugh Multicultural Arts Center, Greensboro Sportsplex, and Parks and Recreation Department offices and all its programs will not operate that day. Regular hours for all Parks and Recreation facilities and programs will resume Tuesday, September 7.
