City Expands Coverage of ‘Urban Loop Mapping Tool’

GREENSBORO, NC – (July 6, 2010) – The City of Greensboro’s Department of Transportation (GDOT) has revised its interactive Urban Loop Mapping Tool to now include other major City- and state-planned roadway projects. The tool, now called Road Project Mapping Tool, can be accessed from the left column of the City’s website home page at www.greensboro-nc.gov.

The purpose of the new mapping tool is to provide easy Web access to major roadway project locations and design information. Simply click on the Road Project Mapping Tool link, enter an address within Guilford County, and see how close a property may be to a planned major roadway project.

In addition to the current Urban Loop design, these other projects are now incorporated into this interactive tool: Bridford Parkway extension, Hornaday Road extension, Battleground Avenue (US 220) widening from Horse Pen Creek Road to Winfree Road, US 220/NC 68 Connector (Future I-73) from Rockingham County to NC 68, W. Market Street widening from NC 68 to west of Bunker Hill Road, High Point Road widening and relocation from Groometown Road/Hilltop Road to Vickery Chapel Road, and the planned interchanges on US 421 at Woody Mill and Neelley roads.

Other City and state projects will be added to the mapping tool as project design information is made available.
