Grand Opening for McGirt-Horton Branch Library is Now August 26
GREENSBORO, NC -- (July 7, 2010) -- Construction delays have caused the Greensboro Public Library to reschedule the grand opening of its new facility for the McGirt-Horton Branch. The library, which is located at 2509 Phillips Ave., will now open in a new building at 5 pm Thursday, August 26. The previous opening was set for July 29.
In 2006, voters approved $3.5 million to construct a new 10,000-square-foot library. The new building will be located in the same shopping center at the corner of Phillips and Woodbriar avenues. This building will be one of the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified libraries in North Carolina.
