Greensboro Youth Council Kicks Off Fall Membership Drive
GREENSBORO, NC -- (September 1, 2010) -- Now through October 21, the Greensboro Youth Council (GYC) will conduct its bi-annual membership drive. Guilford County high school students interested in becoming more involved in the community, gaining leadership experience, building their resumes, volunteering, and meeting new people are encouraged to join GYC.
Orientation sessions are 6-6:30 pm Thursdays, September 16 and 30 and October 7, at the GYC office, 501 Yanceyville St. A full council meeting follows each session. To join GYC, students must attend one orientation session. Also to join, students must fill out an application and volunteer 10 hours through GYC.
As GYC members, students volunteer a certain number of hours each month during the school year to remain in good standing. The students organize more than 15 large projects per year, including the GYC Carnival, the largest youth-run event in the state.
For an application, call 336-373-2738, or visit online at www.GreensboroYouthCouncil.com.
