Future Cents Fall Series Starts August 30 with Keys to Money Mastery

GREENSBORO, NC -- (August 23, 2010) -- The fall session of Greensboro Public Library's financial education project for teens called Future Cents begins August 30 with another presentation of Keys to Money Mastery. The free program begins at 6 pm Monday, August 30, at Central Library, and is open to Guilford County teenagers. Registration is required by contacting Martha Lawson at 336-373-4559.

Keys to Money Mastery, which was a hit with teens during the summer session, outlines five attitudes that can lead to a successful future. Representatives from First Citizens Bank will also be on hand to discuss banking topics, such as establishing an account, good banking habits, and debit versus credit.

“Future Cents is helping our youth to understand they have control over their money and that money has no control over them," says program leader Algenon Cash, owner and managing director of Wharton Gladden & Company. "These lessons and more give our youth the tools they need to achieve financial security and create sustainable wealth."

The fall Future Cents session continues through early October. Teens who attend four programs have a chance to win an iPad. The full schedule and project details are online at www.myfuturecents.com.
