Public Invited to Open House on Phase 2 of the Downtown Greenway
GREENSBORO, NC (March 29, 2010) – With Phase I of the Downtown Greenway now complete, the City of Greensboro’s Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with Action Greensboro invite the public to two open house sessions to learn more about the next phase. The sessions will be held Tuesday, March 30, from 12 noon to 2 pm and from 5-7 pm at the Greensboro Central Library, 219 N. Church St.
At both sessions, the public will get a chance to review the preferred concept for Phase 2 of the Greenway, a 1.5 mile stretch of the 4.2-mile multi-use trail along Murrow Boulevard and Fisher Avenue from East Lee Street to North Eugene Street, as well as associated traffic changes. The traffic changes include a reconfiguration of the Lee Street/Murrow Boulevard intersection, lane reductions to Murrow Boulevard and proposed ramp closures at Summit Avenue.
Representatives from GDOT, Parks and Recreation and Action Greensboro will be present to answer questions and receive comments from the public.
Individuals with a disability who need an interpreter or other auxiliary aids for this meeting should contact GDOT at 336-373-4368.
Also, if you can’t make the meeting, review the plans and take a short survey online at www.greensboro-nc.gov/Greenway.
