Public Invited to Workshop on Downtown Greenway’s Next Phase

GREENSBORO, NC – (July 21, 2010) – The City of Greensboro’s Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with Action Greensboro, are giving the public a chance to review design concepts for Phase 3 of the Downtown Greenway at two public workshops. The workshops are from 12 noon to 2 pm and from 5-7 pm Thursday, July 29, at the Old Bingo Hall, 421 W. Smith St.

Phase 3 covers the northern portion of the 4.2-mile, multi-use Downtown Greenway and stretches from the intersection of Fisher Avenue / North Eugene Street, south to Eugene / Smith streets and then west from Smith to Prescott streets.

At the workshops, staff from GDOT, Parks and Recreation, and Action Greensboro will be available to answer any questions and receive comments on the plan. There will be no formal presentation. 

Also, GDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act for people living with disabilities. Anyone requiring special services should contact GDOT at 336-373-CITY (2489).
