Summer Neighborhood Playground Programs Now Open

GREENSBORO, NC -- (June 24, 2010) -- The City's Parks and Recreation Department is now operating free summer neighborhood playground programs at 13 sites from 9 am to 5 pm Mondays through Fridays (weather permitting) until August 6. Each week, children ages 6-15 who visit one of these sites will enjoy a variety of supervised activities such as sports, games, arts, crafts, and special events. (In observance of the July 4 holiday, the playground program will not operate on Monday, July 5.)

  • Arlington Park, 1201 Bellevue
  • Carriage Hills Park, Westminster Dr. and Bearhollow Rd.
  • Sussman Street Park, 301 Sussman
  • Hampton Park, 3111 Four Seasons Blvd.
  • Hannaford Park, 1701 Hannaford St.
  • Douglas Park, 705 Douglas St.
  • Gant Park, 2100 Autumn Dr.
  • Eastside Park, York St and Perkins St.
  • Kirkwood Park, 1000 Brookside Dr.
  • Steelman Park, 925 Highland Ave.
  • Tuscaloosa Park, 825 Tuscaloosa St.
  • East White Oak, 10th St.
