City to Receive Randleman Lake Water Beginning October 4

GREENSBORO, NC -- (October 1, 2010) -- The City of Greensboro will begin receiving water from Randleman Lake on Monday, October 4. The Randleman Water Treatment Plant will produce an estimated 12 million gallons of water per day, which will be distributed to cooperating jurisdictions, which includes Greensboro.

A newly installed 30-inch feeder main will help integrate Randleman water into Greensboro’s distribution system. The initial process may result in muddy or discolored water caused by sediment in the pipeline for water customers west of Elm-Eugene Street and south of Patterson Avenue. The discoloration is temporary and harmless, and can be cleared up by running the water for a few minutes.
