Reading of Rumi Work Slated for April 26
GREENSBORO, NC -- (April 22, 2010) -- A poetry reading of works by Rumi, a 13th century Persian theologian and mystic, takes place at 7:30 pm Monday, April 26, at the Central Library. The program, which is free and open to the public, features Adrian Vyner-Brooks as the reader and Betsy Bevan who will accompany the program on piano.
Rumi's work is said to transcend national and spiritual boundaries while exploring the human condition. Brooks, a native of Liverpool, England, is well-known for his reading voice and strong interest in poetry. This event is part of the City's National Poetry Month celebration.
