Anniversary Commemoration of Battle of Guilford Courthouse is March 13-14
GREENSBORO, NC -- (March 3, 2010) -- Country Park hosts the 229th anniversary commemoration of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse from 10 am to 4 pm March 13-14 on a portion of the land where the actual battle took place in 1781. Reenactments of the battle take place at 2 pm both days. Meanwhile, reenactors will set-up military encampments at Country Park, Tannenbaum Historic Park and Guilford County Courthouse National Military Park to demonstrate the lives of 18th century Revolutionary War soldiers.
Admission is free. Spectators are encouraged to park at Jaycee Park, off Pisgah Church Road, and asked not to bring dogs because of the cannon and musket fire noise. For more information, call County Park at 336-373-3648.
