Museum Takes Visitors Back to 1930s with Classic Skating Movie

GREENSBORO, NC -- (December 21, 2010) -- On Tuesday, December 28, the Greensboro Historical Museum offers two showings of the 1938 ice skating classic movie Happy Landing, starring three-time Olympic figure skating gold medalist Sonja Henie. Movie times are 2 and 7 pm and admission is 30 cent per person.

The movie is designed to continue the buzz over ice skating at Winterfest rink in downtown Greensboro and the 2011 US Figure Skating Championships at the Greensboro Coliseum in January. In fact, moviegoers will be able to enter a drawing for free tickets to Session 16, the Pairs and Ice Dance Championship finals, and everyone will receive a discount coupon code good for tickets to the championship series purchased through Ticketmaster.

Reservations are not required for the movie, but admission will be limited to the first 150 viewers for each performance. Tickets will be sold before each show at the museum, 130 Summit Ave.
