Annual NC Storyfest Slated for May 22
GREENSBORO, NC -- (May 16, 2010) -- The sixth annual NC Storyfest takes place from 11:30 am to 5:45 pm Saturday, May 22, at the Cultural Arts District, between Davie and Church streets. Headliners for this year's free festival are Cuban-American Leeny Del Seamonds, an award-winning international performer of original stories and world tales, and Greensboro's Logie Meachum, who has performed children's literature, stories, and music nationally for more than 30 years.
Kicking off Storyfest this year is a concert at 7:30 pm Friday, May 21, at Penn Griffin School of the Arts, 825 E. Washington St., High Point. The concert features the Healing Force, a Winston-Salem group that combines African dance, storytelling, and music.
There will also be four storytelling workshops for adults from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm Saturday, May 22, at Central Library, 219 N. Church St. For more information or to register for a workshop, call Lynda Stumpf at 336-580-4137.
