Greensboro Installs New Police Chief September 1

GREENSBORO, NC – August 24, 2010 – Greensboro’s Police Chief Ken Miller will be sworn in at 10 am Wednesday, September 1, at the Greensboro Coliseum’s Special Events Center. The public is welcome to attend.

Miller’s selection by City Manager Rashad Young as chief of police followed an extensive selection and interview process. He joins Greensboro from Charlotte where he served most recently as senior deputy chief with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Miller has served with Charlotte-Mecklenburg for 21 years and in law enforcement for more than 25 years.

Chief Miller replaces retired Chief of Police Tim Bellamy who served as chief for the past four years. Miller will be available for short one-on-one media interviews immediately following the ceremony.
