September 25's Voices of a City Live! Celebrates Greensboro's History

GREENSBORO, NC -- (September 17, 2010) -- The Greensboro Historical Museum hosts the Voices of a City Live! celebration from 10 am to 4 pm Saturday, September 25, to celebrate Greensboro's history and the museum's new Voices of a City: Greensboro, North Carolina exhibition. Admission is free.

The event features a scavenger hunt, historically inspired food, live fife and drum music from the 2nd North Carolina Regiment of Revolutionary War re-enactors, and stories from 300 years of local history told by members of the North Carolina Storyfest. Also on tap are an 11 am and 2 pm presentation of African Roots, Latino Soul, a Smithsonian Discovery Theater and Class Act play about what it means to grow up in the American melting pot.

The museum, located at 130 Summit Ave., is a division of the Greensboro Public Library.
