City's New Water Billing Will Increase Efficiency, Save Money
GREENSBORO, NC – (October 5, 2010) – Greensboro’s Water Resources Department is changing the way customers are notified about water and sewer delinquency status. The department, with City Council approval, is streamlining its billing process to reduce mailings, saving approximately $50,000 a year.
Starting this month, water customers will no longer receive a separate delinquency notice in the mail. Customers will instead receive notice of account delinquency on their regular monthly City Services statement. Those with a past due amount of $10 or more will receive their monthly notice as a pink delinquency statement, explaining the past due status of the account, penalties, and payment instruction. No other delinquency notices will be mailed. For an example of what the new delinquency notice looks like, visit www.greensboro-nc.gov/water.
For more information call the City Contact Center at 373-2489 (CITY) or visit www.greensboro-nc.gov/water.
