Public Meeting for City Annexation Scheduled for April 7
GREENSBORO, NC -- (April 1, 2011) – The City of Greensboro has scheduled a meeting at 7 pm, Thursday, April 7, at Leonard Recreation Center, 6324 Ballinger Rd., to discuss a proposed annexation. Residents and property owners in the annexation areas are invited to attend.
During the meeting, City staff will make a presentation and residents will have the opportunity to talk individually with representatives from multiple City departments. The proposed annexation would grow the City’s boundaries to the east and west, affect five households and increase Greensboro’s footprint by 353 acres. The households included in the proposal are on Cheswick Drive, Fleming Road, and Pleasant Ridge Road, to the west. Meanwhile, areas to the east are unpopulated portions of land along Boulder Road and Interstate 40, including a 330 acre parcel along E. Lee Street and Cedar Park Road.
Annexation information is available on the City’s website at www.greensboro-nc.gov/annexation. Features of the website include an interactive map that allows users to enter their address to find out if they are included in the proposed annexation areas.
