 Greensboro Aquatic Center Manager Hired

GREENSBORO, NC – (February 28, 2011) -- Susan Braman has been selected as Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC) manager. Braman, who has been serving as a consultant to the Coliseum Complex in the planning, design and programming of the GAC, will begin her full-time position on March 1.

Braman has an extensive background in all aspects of aquatic programming and management having served for nine years as the manager of the International Swimming Hall of Fame Pool Complex in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. In that capacity, she solicited, planned and coordinated the hosting responsibilities of many of the largest and most prestigious swimming and diving meets in the country, including serving as meet director for the Junior and Senior USA Swimming National Championships, the annual USA National Diving Meet, the annual YMCA SC National Swimming Championships and USA Synchronized Swimming National Championships. Braman also hosted and coordinated the College Coaches Swim Forum, an annual two-week event that includes over 1,500 swimmers and coaches for training, meetings and a swim event.
 
“Susan has already developed a great relationship with many of the swimming organizations who will be contracting with the Greensboro Aquatic Center for practice as well as the hosting of major swimming and diving meets,” said Matt Brown, Coliseum managing director. “I hired Susan to be the manager of the International Swimming Hall of Fame Pool Complex, so I know firsthand her outstanding abilities and work ethic and that she’ll do a great job here in Greensboro.”

During her tenure at the Fort Lauderdale complex, Braman also developed a highly acclaimed learn to swim program that provided lessons to children ages five to adult in a variety of Red Cross swimming programs for more than 2,000 youth on an annual basis. She will develop a similar program for Guilford County schools students.

Braman’s employment history also includes having served as the first facility manager for Blockbuster Golf & Games in Sunrise, Fla. In that role, she was responsible for the hiring, supervising, directing and maintaining of a 12-acre entertainment complex with two mini golf courses, batting cages, driving range and games arena.
