Country Park Hosts Battle of Guilford Courthouse March 12-13
GREENSBORO, NC -- (March 8, 2011) -- Country Park hosts the 230th anniversary commemoration of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse from 10 am to 4 pm Saturday and Sunday, March 12-13, on a portion of land where the actual 1781 battle took place. Admission to the event is free.
Each day, re-enactors will set-up military encampments at Country Park, Tannenbaum Historic Park and Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, and demonstrate the lives of 18th century Revolutionary War soldiers. The battle itself will be re-enacted at 2 pm both days.
Spectators should park at Jaycee Park, 3110 Forest Lawn Dr., off Pisgah Church Road. And, due to the noise from cannons and musket fire, please do not bring dogs to this event. For more information, call Country Park at 336-373-3648.
