City Reports Untreated Sewage Discharge
GREENSBORO, NC -- (January 14, 2011) -- The City of Greensboro reports a discharge of approximately 1,800 gallons of untreated wastewater from a sewer main located at 4303 Green Point Dr. The discharge occurred for about four hours today, January 14, and was due to an eight-inch main stopped with grease. The untreated wastewater entered South Buffalo 1 tributary of the Haw River basin. The main was unstopped with a Jet-Vac truck to prevent further discharge and the creek was flushed.
