City Offices Closed April 22 in Observance of Good Friday

GREENSBORO, NC – (April 15, 2011) – City of Greensboro offices and facilities will be closed Friday, April 22, in observance of Good Friday. The following facilities and services will operate on a holiday schedule:

• No garbage, recycling, bulk trash, yard waste, and appliance collections will take place Friday, April 22. Instead, Friday’s collection will take place Thursday, April 21, and Thursday’s collection will take place Wednesday, April 20.
• The White Street Landfill and Solid Waste Transfer Station will be closed Friday, April 22. Regular hours will resume Saturday, April 23.
• Greensboro Transit Authority’s (GTA) bus service will operate Friday, April 22, with departures from the Depot at the top of the hour only. There will be no Career Express service. HEAT Routes 73 and 75 will run with reduced service with one bus operating. HEAT Route 74 will not operate. Services will resume normal operation Saturday, April 23. • All branches of the Greensboro Public Library will be closed Friday, April 22. Regular hours will resume Saturday, April 23. All branches will be closed Sunday, April 24. Regular hours will resume Monday, April 25.
• The Greensboro Historical Museum will be closed Friday, April 22. Regular hours will resume Saturday, April 23. The museum will be closed Sunday, April 24. Regular hours will resume Monday, April 25.
• All City parks, gardens, lakes, trails, cemeteries, and the Greensboro Sportsplex will be open Friday, April 22. However, all recreation centers, Parks and Recreation administrative offices, City Arts, and other departmental facilities will be closed that day. Regular hours will resume Saturday, April 23.
