GPD Donates Money to Guilford County Animal Shelter
GREENSBORO, NC – (April 26, 2011) – To commemorate its 25th anniversary as a full-time canine unit, the Greensboro Police Department (GPD) Canine Squad today donates more than $1,300 to the Guilford County Animal Shelter, 4525 W. Wendover Ave.
The money was raised by the sale of a commemorative knife celebrating the unit's 25th year, which was 2010. Sgt. B.E. Davis, Cpl. H.E. Summers, and members of the canine unit designed the knife last year and have since sold more than 300 to police employees. The proceeds will benefit the animal shelter.
