Library Offers January 12 Program on Best Practices for Meeting Minutes
GREENSBORO, NC -- (January 10, 2011) -- Is your organization, board or commission up on the latest and best practices for drafting meeting minutes? If not, you may want to attend a free panel discussion on the topic from 3-5 pm Wednesday, January 12, at Central Library, 219 N. Church St.
Topics to be covered include:
- Applicable law and best practices with practical examples for drafting effective minutes
- Ethical considerations and the attorney-client privilege
- Issues specific to non-profit boards.
Speakers include Ed Winslow, who represents business and corporate clients with an emphasis on the fields of banking and financial services; Reid Phillips, general counsel for Brooks Pierce, who regularly advises members of the firm on issues involving ethics and professionalism; and Bob Saunders whose practice focuses on representing tax-exempt organizations including charities, trade associations, social welfare organizations and social clubs.
Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit of 1.5 general credit hours and .5 ethics credit hours are available for completion of this event. There is a $50 fee for anyone applying for the credit hours. For more information, call 336-373-2714.
