City Seeks Photos for New Website

GREENSBORO, NC (February 2, 2011) – The City of Greensboro is seeking photographs for its new website, set to launch this spring. To collect the pictures, the City is hosting an online contest throughout the month of March, with winning photos earning placement on various pages of the new site.

According to Chryste Hofer, the City’s deputy chief information officer, the photo contest creates a true community project. “The beauty and character of the City of Greensboro is something that we want to display on the new website. We felt that this contest would be a great way to enhance our image library and to encourage the Greensboro community to play an important role in the development of their City government website.”

Those interested in entering the contest should visit www.greensboro-nc.gov/photocontest to read the complete contest rules and submit photos. Photographs are being accepted in several categories, representing Greensboro’s downtown, skyline, history, recreation, beauty and landmarks. Only color digital photos that have been taken in the last three years, and not previously published, will be accepted.

For more information, contact April Craddock in the City’s Information Technology Department at 336-412-6138.
