Senior Games/SilverArts Registration Begins February 1
GREENSBORO, NC -- (January 24, 2011) -- Registration for the 2011 Greater Greensboro Senior Games and SilverArts competition will be held February 1 through March 18. To receive a registration form, call the Greensboro Seniors' Unit at 336-375-2237.
Also, a “Kickoff, Registration Event and Practice Day” for shuffleboard, table tennis and basketball shooting takes place 11:30 am to 1:30 pm Tuesday, February 15, at Smith Senior Center, 2401 Fairview St. Refreshments will be served. Competitions begin in late March and conclude with an awards luncheon in early May.
Each year, more than 200 local seniors ages 55 years and better compete in a variety of sporting events and exhibit their artwork in four categories: performing, literary, heritage and visual arts. Local medalists are eligible to compete in the North Carolina Senior Games State finals, held in Raleigh in the fall.
