GM 9-1-1 Celebrates National Public Safety Telecommunications Week April 10-16
GREENSBORO, NC – (April 6, 2011) – Guilford Metro 9-1-1 celebrates National Public Safety Telecommunications Week April 10-16 with festivities that recognize public safety communicators who go above and beyond the call of duty in their service to the community.
Events include a special lunch or dinner for each employee shift, along with fun activities designed to recognize all employees. Also on tap is an awards ceremony at 1 pm Wednesday, April 13, at the Guilford Metro 9-1-1 center to honor Dana Hall, Telecommunicator of the Year. The award is voted on by employees based on dedication to 9-1-1, being a team player, and doing an outstanding job serving area residents. Hall has been employed by 9-1-1 for almost 20 years.
“The award is not one that the boss picks,” said Craig Whittington, Guilford 9-1-1 special projects coordinator. “Your boss can pat you on your back all day long, but when your co-workers do it, that’s a whole lot different.”
