Neighborhood Walks Spring into Action
GREENSBORO, NC (April 13, 2011) – The City of Greensboro is set to resume its Neighborhood Walks Program this spring with a visit to the Ardmore Park neighborhood, in City Council District 4, at 5:30 pm on Monday, April 18. Walks in Districts 1 and 2 are also set, as City Manager Rashad Young and members of the City’s executive team gear up to tour neighborhoods in each Council district.
The walks provide opportunities for City staff to meet personally with community leaders and residents, listen to and see first-hand their concerns, and understand what is working well in their communities.
The neighborhood walk dates and locations include:
• Monday, April 18, 5:30 pm in the Ardmore Park neighborhood (District 4) • Monday, May 9, 5:30 pm in the Friendly neighborhood/McConnell Rd. area (District 1) • Monday, May 16, 5:30 pm in the Ole Asheboro neighborhood (District 2)
Each walk includes breaks for refreshments and discussion. Route details, including a walking map, will be released prior to each tour.
Walks in Districts 3 and 5 will be announced at a later date. For more information, call the City’s community relations office at 336-373-2723.
