Historical Museum Offers Advice to Aspiring History Writers
GREENSBORO, NC -- (January 12, 2011) -- Want to learn more about how writers of history and historical fiction turn story-telling and thorough research into published work? Attend a free discussion by historian Howard E. Covington Jr., author of three non-fiction history books, at 2 pm Saturday, January 15, at Greensboro Historical Museum, 130 Summit Ave.
The program focuses on how history writers find their stories, conduct their research, and create books that history buffs and experts love to read. As an example of his approach, Covington will give an inside perspective of how he created his 2008 book Once Upon a City: Greensboro, North Carolina’s Second Century, a narrative history of Greensboro told through the people who helped shape the city through the 20th and into the 21st centuries.
For more information, call the museum at 336-373-4321.
