Greensboro is located in north central North Carolina, 30 miles east of Winston-Salem, 75 miles west of Raleigh, and 80 miles northeast of Charlotte. Greensboro is in Guilford County in the Piedmont Triad region of the state and is midway between Washington, DC and Atlanta. Greensboro covers 131.91 square miles. The "Triad" area is made up of Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point.
