Creative Greensboro presents “Sweet Medicine: an Elixir of Hope and Healing” performed by Sage Chioma, as part of their Residency at the Hyers from September 14-October 12. The Residency includes an Expressive Arts Workshop Series and culminates with performances October 3, 4, 10, and 11 at 7:00 pm. All events take place at the Stephen D. The one-woman show, “Sweet Medicine: An Elixir of Hope and Healing,” performed by Sage Chioma, is a powerful artistic work combining poetry, storytelling, movement, and visual imagery to create a deeply transformative experience. As a wise woman elder with over three decades of long-term recovery, Sage Chioma brings a unique depth of insight and compassion to her work. Drawing from her poetry book, "Earth is a Mother's Hood," and inspired by the concept of the wounded healer and the hero's journey, Sage Chioma weaves a narrative that reflects resilience, recovery, and collective healing.
