Follow Your Heart To A New Career - Lunch and Learn

One City, One Book

  • CostFree

Are you considering a career change or dreaming of starting a new venture? Maybe you are already pursuing self-employment and seeking inspiration and guidance.

Join us for a One City, One Book "Follow Your Heart" Lunch and Learn event focused on the book Boat Burning for Beginners: Swapping Our 9 to 5’s for Successful Self-Employment with contributing author Abigail Seymour in conversation with My Father's List author Laura Carney and City of Greensboro’s Deputy Director of Human Rights, Maria Hicks-Few.

Boat Burning for Beginners shares the inspiring stories of women who transitioned from traditional 9-to-5 jobs to successful self-employment, building businesses and lives on their own terms. The book delves into the pivotal moments, the private doubts the women faced on their journeys, and the practical realities of starting from scratch and navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship.

Bring your lunch, drinks will be provided. Registration is preferred. For more information, contact Beth Sheffield.
