We welcome Shurrita S. Davis, adjunct professor at NC A&T State University. Through hands-on activities, discussion, and reflection, students will learn how microorganisms move from hands to food and how food scientists help prevent contamination. The session connects everyday hygiene habits to real-world food science concepts, such as sanitation, microbiology, and preventing foodborne illness. We will use the Glow Germ System to visually demonstrate how germs spread and why proper handwashing is essential for food safety. Students will explore how science keeps the food we eat safe.
