Join Parks and Recreation Staff for a New Year's Day for a 7 mile hike!
Whether your New Year Resolution is to get healthier or you just want to start the year off by being in the outdoors this is the perfect program for you!
Staff will be leading a 7 mile guided hike on the Laurel Bluff Trail. We will be meeting at The Laurel Bluff Parking Lot which is located on the right side of the street once you have passed the Lake Brandt Marina coming from the direction of downtown Greensboro. The address to the Marina is 5945 Lake Brandt Rd. Greensboro, NC 27455. If you are coming down Lake Brandt Road from the direction of Summerfield you will drive over a bridge next to the dam at Lake Brandt and the parking lot for the Laurel Bluff trail will be on your left.
This trail is rated at an Intermediate level with steep climbs in certain areas. This trail would not be suitable for young kids unless that have experience hiking or individuals who can become unsteady when they walk. Staff will be discussing local history and the importance of the lakes during the walk. Everyone in your party that plans to hike must be registered separately. Please dress comfortably for the weather and bring water. In the event of inclement weather this hike will be cancelled with no make-up date. Register today!
