An immersive workshop exploring our relationship with please through embodied movement, creative confidence, nervous system awareness. Discover a deeper relationship with yourself through movement, mindfulness, and embodied awareness in this unique workshop presented as part of the Dreams in Motion Dance & Circus Arts Residency at the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center, proudly sponsored by Creative Greensboro. This workshop explores one of the core philosophies of Dreams in Motion: cultivating a meaningful relationship with the body through presence, creativity, and intentional living. Drawing inspiration from traditional Tantric philosophy, participants are invited to explore the body as a source of wisdom, creativity, and connection.
Together, we’ll explore themes including:
* Embodied movement and uninhibited soulful expression
* Nervous system awareness and regulation
* Mindfulness and the practice of fully inhabiting the present moment
* Bliss body activation as a practice of cultivating joy, vitality, and aliveness
* An introduction to Mahamudra and its emphasis on presence, awareness, and direct experience
* The historical and philosophical foundations of Tantra as a path of consciousness and embodied living
* The four pillars of the Kama Sutra, explored through the lens of communication, emotional intelligence, mutual respect, and cultivating healthy, harmonious relationships
As artists working within movement, performance, and the sensual arts, we believe it is essential to approach the body with reverence rather than objectification. One of the most profound gifts of Tantra is its invitation to transform what is often viewed as purely physical into something intentional, sacred, and deeply human.
This workshop also acknowledges the rich pre-colonial traditions from which many of these philosophies emerged, honoring their cultural roots while exploring how they can inspire more compassionate relationships with ourselves, our communities, and our creative practice today.
Whether you’re an artist, performer, wellness practitioner, or simply someone seeking a deeper connection with your body and your life, this experience offers a welcoming space to move, reflect, and reconnect.
Come explore what becomes possible when presence, movement, and embodied awareness become a way of life.
