A landfill is a permanent resting place for waste. At Greensboro's White Street Landfill only construction and demolition waste are accepted. Learn what a landfill is, how it's made, and what it looks like. Is it big? Is it stinky? Do animals live there? Bonus site: Come see what happens to Greensboro's yard waste at the large-scale composting site. See how we break down yard waste into gardener's gold!

  • Registration required.
  • Tours are for participants 8 years old and up.
  • Closed toed shoes and long pants required.
  • Carpooling recommended due to limited parking.

To schedule tours for groups larger than 5, please fill out our online form.
