To Participate in this Meeting

If you want to speak during the meeting about an agenda item, please email Jeff Sovich or call 336-433-7264 no later than 12 noon Monday, August 10. Provide your name, email address, and the item(s) you're referring to. You will then be emailed instructions on how to participate, including a unique password that cannot be used by others, and information about the use of a virtual waiting room depending on the number of available spaces allowed for this Zoom meeting. 

If you want to provide written comments in advance about any agenda item to be read out loud by the chair during the meeting, please email them to Jeff Sovich no later than 12 noon Monday, August 10.


All participants will be admitted to a virtual waiting room 15 minutes before the meeting begins and admitted to the meeting as space allows and on a first-come, first-served basis. Throughout the meeting, participants maybe muted and unmuted at the discretion of the council chair and staff liaison. 

If you are a first-time Zoom user, whether you want to speak or observe at this meeting, Planning staff urge you to sign up for a Zoom account, then download, install, and test the Zoom software in advance to make sure you're able to access this meeting successfully. The Community Sustainability Council (CSC) was created by the City Council in January 2008 as an advisory group. Its mission is to research, advocate, coordinate, and provide outreach for local measures for these results:

  • Reduce energy usage and carbon dioxide emissions 
  • Identify the costs of implementation and possible funding strategies 
  • Monitor the progress and effectiveness of measures adopted by the City Council.
